Cover Story: FEAST Magazine

Since December 2013, I’ve been writing about food for FEAST Magazine, the Midwest premier food publication covering food and culinary lifestyle news in Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and southern Illinois. I’m one of the lead writers covering the Ozarks, with a special flavor for agricultural human interest stories.

I traveled east to Seymour, Missouri, where I met the Backes family and their 100 hogs at Circle B Ranch. I told the story of this pasture-raised operation for the October 2015 cover story of FEAST Magazine. The feature so impressed FEAST’s editors, it was made the magazine’s cover — it so impressed the farmers themselves, I then served as the farm’s social media manager and content creator for three years.

The 2,000-word cover story was read by an estimated 750,000 readers.
